AM I TOO RADICAL??????

I saw Amazing Grace yesterday. What an awesome statement about how a Christian seeking the face of our LORD can make a political impact. His focus was humanity and crushing INJUSTICE--the slave trade first, but followed by seeking aid to the poor and expanding education. With that said, what are our "Christian" Republicans doing?

I am struggling right now how we, Evangelical Christians, force our politicians to make laws on abortion and anti-gay marriages, yet we do not allow the true Gospel to spread into our government. The Conservatives always point to the liberals as say they are socialists (which they are), but will offer NO solution to the SOCIAL INJUSTICES God has called us to smash out.

The Acts Church was what I see as Christian socialism, which basically means it is socialist in nature only through the blood of Christ.

What I think we should do is surrender our political statements and rethink our approach to poverty, abortion, homo and heterosexual sin, lost generations, drug addictions, famine, disease, etc.

Now, the question is, am I too radical? What can I possibly do to get the attention of Christian leaders (liberals, conservatives, black, white, Hispanic, etc.)and begin to truly do something???

I have been struggling over Matthew 25:32-46 as I began to ponder my failures as well as the churches' failures at dealing with the Truth--that is injustice is everywhere, yet all we do is focus on our own personal agendas.

Self-Control through His Spirit

Jesus called us to be holy.
"You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:14

"For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother." Matthew 12:50

Jesus was quite clear in his expectations of His followers. If you claim to be in the Spirit, then you must walk in the Spirit. To what degree does this rely on our flesh? I argue that our flesh has been transformed by the Holy Spirit at the point of belief, yet a process of salvation begins in us.

We live in a journey of salvation that begins the day we believe. As Jesus said in John 10:10--"I have come to give you life and life to the full." The truth is that salvation takes place inwardly at point of spiritual "conception." Let's seek His Spirit in all that we do and we will glorify and honor Father.

Just some random thoughts on Jesus
