Hosea--A Love Story

As you read Hosea, ponder God's love for you and His people.

What challenges face God's people operating in His love?

What are the consequences of sin? To what degree does God "punish" us?

Respond to these thoughts or just respond within your own reading.

You know, its rewarding to look and see that the fabric of Hosea is built with the treads of love. Love permeates the book. Some may disagree at first when the anger andpunishment seem to take center stage in much of the book. However, if you think about it, punishment is part of that love. Correction ensures that things remain ..... are you ready for this .... correct. Its like today when Pat and I went to Emersons to chill and check out some pipes. A good smoke is something that you have to work for. You have to pack it gently, light it correctly, and tamp it along the way with an ocasional relight to keep that smoke perfect, but the reward far surpasses the work. However, sometimes a bowl gets too hot or is just packed too tight and despite you best efforts, it just has to be thrown out and you get to start all over. Sometimes punishment is the way that God takes us back to square 1 and, just like Hosea bought Gomer back, God buys us back and we start over... But he will win our affection .. God is a gentleman

you know Was, (Because Im not sure how many other people check this, and even if they did I typically post a comment too long to evoke a desire to read it) love is a strange, living, changing thing and yet as it grows and moves it is so very constant and leaves its mark wherever it has been like a hermit crab with wet paint on his belly. i can only pray that the energy that I exert in my life to show love is not ill-placed, and the times that I do not love, it will not take on a faux (sp?) love like the guys who wear fake mohawks because the lack the courage to shave their head and dont like what the real thing looks like .. i hope that I will wear a mohawk or no-hawk... i pray that my love is not fake or self seeking, lacking courage to truly stand out yet close enough to be "punk" aka different .. we are a generation...... of fauxhawers ... we rock the style amongst like minded kindred spirits yet we lack the true courage to get real, dangerous love... we dont put ouself out there for or with Christ .. we play games with the hearts of our brothers and our women because we fear what it really takes to love... so we part our hair and grow it slightly so that on Sunday morning and Monday nights, the crucial amought of gel will stand proud our false love .. our fake defiance beams in the face of ... no one .. cause we're surrounded by fauxhawkers .. i hate this .. i hate knowing that this is soo me .... i guess im gonna go part my hair or somethin.....
